Student Holistic Health
Academic Excellence is tough and is more than good grades. Below are resources to support actives in their journey to graduation.
Academic Health
Career Services & Leadership Development
“Career Services & Leadership Development’s (CSLD) mission is to equip our diverse student and alumni population with modern resources that assist, guide, and foster their leadership, professional and career advancement. Through advances in technology and with staff ready to go the extra mile, we provide students with tools to take initiative and excel in their future endeavors.”
Asian American & Pacific Islander Student Services
“Among the goals of Ethnic Studies is self-determination for Black, Indigenous, and communities of color often invisible to and within the academy. Self-determination, or the ability for dispossessed people to center one’s experiences in shaping one’s material reality was an impetus for the formation and institutionalization of the Asian American and Pacific Islander Student Services and the Asian American & Pacific Islander Retention and Education (ASPIRE) Program in 2016.
The development of AA&PI Student Services centers student identities, narratives, and experiences that may have been invisible and or sidelined in the traditional work of student services.
In AA&PI Student Services, advocating and creating opportunities for access and visibility is a priority for our students. This is accomplished with a partnership with the College of Ethnic Studies, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, Division of Equity and Community Inclusion and our campus community.”
Financial Help & Scholarships
Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA)
“The Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) strives to support students throughout the financial aid process. OSFA has the overall responsibility of administering Federal or State financial aid and Scholarships awards at San Francisco State University. We determine the eligibility, awarding, and the conditions in which these awards may be disbursed.
OSFA communicates with our students via their SF State E-mail and SF State Gateway. To keep yourself up to date - Make sure to check both regularly. “
Asian Pacific Fund: A Community Foundation
“Our mission is to strengthen the Asian and Pacific Islander community in the Bay Area by increasing philanthropy and supporting the organizations that serve our most vulnerable community members.”
Bold.org - Scholarship Search Engine
“The average student today will graduate more than $30,000 in debt and is far less likely to start small businesses, seek the highest impact careers, buy homes, or start families.
At Bold.org, we believe that’s a problem worth solving.”
Lola Scholarship Fund
“LEAD Filipino is building the Mama Verang and Lola Remi Scholarship Fund (Lola Scholarship Fund) to provide scholarships for current and incoming Filipino American college students.
LEAD Filipino organizer Daniel Lazo is leading the board to this scholarship fund and chose the name of the fund in memory and dedication of his two grandmothers.”
