How Will XPO’s Fundraiser Impact PEP’s Work?

  1. Fully supply PEP’s Longfellow School Teachers, Students, and Families with school supplies for the Spring 2023 Semester.

  2. Provide the Kindergartener & 1st-grade class with Filipina/o/x stories and coloring books so our kids can learn their history and have role models that look like them.

    Books from Bayani Art.

XPO’s PEP drive in the news.

Who is PEP?

“PEP’s vision is to create educational spaces where Ethnic Studies and Filipina/x/o American Studies are utilized as a means to support the liberation, humanization, and wellness of students, teachers, and the communities in which they belong. PEP’s purpose is to promote the values of Ethnic Studies: hope, love, respect, critical consciousness, and both self-actualization/determination and community actualization/determination.What is PEP?

  • "The PEP classroom is different than the traditional classroom. In a PEP classroom the teachers, students, and families can feel loved, feel understood, and are given a platform to discover their greatest power- Their voice. Their hope. And their ability to build their cultural & community identity."

    Andrew K. | PEP 2015-2018 | Longfellow Elementary Site

  • "Working with PEP students is amazing. The students in the PEP space are so talented and willing. Where they are able to cultivate care and change through the tools that we provided. In turn showing myself the amazing skills and talent that they have."

Dante J. | PEP Alumni 2020-2022 | Balboa High School Site & Burton High School Site

Our Active Brothers share what they hope for future generations to learn about their culture.
