Culture is complex and whether you identify as Pilipino or not, all newly crossed brothers develop a core understanding of who they are as respectful young gentlemen. They understand what it means to be Pilipino-American and how their personal core values can build a better future for themselves.
As active members in the Fil-Am community at San Francisco State University and beyond, community organizing is rooted in event planning, public speaking, budget management, and networking. Only together can we bring about positive change for our loved ones.
The final and strongest cornerstone of our organization is brotherhood. Our alumni network spans the education, health care, non-profit, tech sectors and more. Our Alumni network act as mentors, provide job opportunities, and holistic support no matter the phase of any brother’s life.

Our Process and Public Rituals
Chi Rho Omicron is dedicated to raising the next generation of Respectful Young Gentlemen. Joining our Brotherhood is a personal commitment to yourself and our brotherhood that should not be taken lightly. The length of the process varies but will not conflict with your academic success. New associate members can expect to spend time learning about Pilipino/Pilipino American history and culture, volunteering at local community organizations, event planning, networking, and learning about their own family history. Nothing is done that would humiliate, conflict with a man’s honor, or degrade an individual. We strongly believe in building each individual up and giving them the personal and professional tools to succeed in their life, with their loved ones, and with their brothers.
Eligibility Requirements
Any male student who is currently enrolled at San Francisco State University.
Is a full-time student taking courses leading to their first academic degree.
Is in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale.
Is of good character and moral values.
You do not need to be Pilipino or identify as Pilipino to join.
Ideal Candidate
Someone who is interested in bettering themselves and is invested in their self-improvement and growth.
Someone who is a responsible community member with good character who takes their academic success seriously.
We are not interested in individuals whose actions would put the organization, their fellow brothers, community allies, and loved ones at risk.
We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. If you want to be part of a movement bigger than yourself then do not be afraid to learn more and apply.
Chi Rho Omicron’s Stance on Hazing
